Spin me through the years!
I’m not really the blogging or social media type, I’ve said before. There are long stretches where I have nothing I want to share, and I try not to talk too much about myself anyway. People divulge too much too readily on the net, I think, even if the very notion of privacy is an illusion in the face of datamining and the NSA’s fever dream of electronic Panopticon.
Sometime in the late summer of 2012, I just decided to set this blog aside. Wasn’t using it much anymore, I figured.
I’m rather glad WordPress kept it up for me, cos I’m BACK. A lot has happened since the last posts. Specifically, I got married. I didn’t expect to marry, and didn’t especially consider it a requisite for a good life, but it just came upon me in the autumn of 2012. It just was the right thing to do. So now I’m happily living with my wife, still in Osaka, STILL TRUCKIN’, BABY!
After I put Perihele in mothballs, I used Facebook for posting images to my friends, but I’m sick of their photo upload system, its awkward layout, clunky image caption system, major caps on image quality, and notion that what I upload there may not entirely be mine anymore.
And I decided I might have shit to say again, just maybe. It will give me an excuse to take pretty pictures, that’s for sure. Document my existence and whatnot. Hell, some of it may even be personal…
